Drunken Gummies (Vodka-Infused Gummi Bears)

Step 4Finally, our lovely mutants!

Finally, our lovely mutants!
Your gummi bears are finally finished!
If there is a lot of excess juice/vodka resting in the bottom, you may drain it or leave it in to be further absorbed by the bears as they rest.

Remember to return to the fridge if they are not all eaten -- which rarely happens!
Be ready for the rush and eat these carefully as they can be pretty potent!

Hi, I'm making these soon, but I would like to know if any of you know how much time it can stay out of the fridge after they are done because I hear if you leave them out too long they sort of become a watery mess.

For those outside the states that are having trouble finding juice concentrate: Tropicana apparently distributes in Germany. If you contact them through their website, they can direct you to a nearby distributor. --but another solution is JuicyJuice brand concentrate, which comes in a can like a soda can, isn't frozen, and can be stored on a shelf. And...is available through Amazon--Yay!

I figured out a shortcut if you don't want to wait.

  1. Just take the gummi bears out of the package, a good handful will do, then pour a shot of vodka, probably cherry flavor would be good to try.
  2. Shove the handful of gummi bears in your mouth.
  3. Slam a shot of vodka.
  4. Chew vigorously and swallow.
  5. Repeat until you've had enough.

This procedure eliminates the days and days of waiting.  Instant results!  :)

They are in the freezer section. Usually on the bottom shelf. They are easy to miss since most people never buy them :)

You can use koolaid. I envelope of koolaid. 1 cup of sugar. 1 quart of water. Hope it helps :)

Frozen juice concentrate is simply 100% juice that has been boiled so the vast majority of water is gone. You are basically left with a sticky syrup. I'm not sure how long you'd have to boil it for the vast majority of water to be gone. It's a 3:1 ratio here (3 cups of water for every 1 cup of concentrate).

Hope that helps! :)

Frozen juice concentrate is in just about any grocery store you walk into. Are you sure you know what you are looking for cuz I find it hard to believe that you can't find it. it's in the frozen juice section LOL In a can that you dump into a pitcher and and add water to. MinuteMaid is usually the main brand, or there is usually a store brand.
Sep 7, 2011. 2:26 AMmjansie says:
Well, you come to a Dutch or German supermarket and please point it out to me, since I am obviously to dumb to look for a can that should probably be next to the frozen fruits...
Seriously, we do not even have a frozen juice section

i know it's been months since your comment, but living in Munich I had the same problem and to tell the truth I didn't even bother looking.. I just took regular juice, but made sure it was plain juice, no sugar added or anything. Worked out perfectly!
Dec 4, 2011. 2:01 AMtadams12 says:
hope you found it by now, sorry they were so rude to you. not that it is a good reason but they were to silly to thinnk that you could be living anyplace other than America. Most Americans have never left and have no ides that they can not just go buy the same types of food anyplace in the world.

If it helps you can use any type of pre made Juice such as Apple.

the frozen juice concentrate is with the freakin Bacardi mixers in the frozen section. where in the heck are you from?
Sep 25, 2011. 10:39 AMtazia1 says:
Hey mjansie - I didn't have any frozen juice concentrate on hand, so I just added liqueur - raspberry flavor, cherry flavor, vanilla flavor - a mix of whatever I had on hand. No nonalcoholic liquid went into my gummy bears at all and they still came out great!
Jan 27, 2010. 6:28 AMmilospalic1 says:

How long after the required 9 days will the lil' suckers last in the fridge? I love the idea but, I am never sure when we will have friends ovver that far in advance so, if they can hang out in the fridge it would be great. Thanks so much, this is an awesome idea 5 stars!

I made these once and took to an adult party. Now WHY ppl bring their kids is BEYOND me! Anyways, guess what I found them eating??? I told their mother and she said, Oh well, guess they will sleep good tonight!! I had to hid them! Grrrr... They were a huge hit with the adults as well! :)
Sep 9, 2010. 9:17 AMsilveruno says:
Well, that will teach the kids not to eat gummi bears. LOL
Aug 26, 2010. 10:00 PMLokisgodhi says:
Back in the day, when you took the kids on a long car trip, you'd pop a little nip of vodka in their drinks. They'd go to sleep and you (the parents) would have miles and hours of blissfully quiet driving.

No screaming. No fights. No constant bathroom stops. Not having to stop every few miles to beat their asses.

Those were the days.
