This is how I made a pci slot fan with dual 80 mm fans, and an expansion slot controller for it.
Warning: it is possible that you might make a bad connection, and short out your computer's power supply. I recommend that you test this with a separate 12 volt power supply multiple times as you proceed, to make sure it is working at every step.

Here's what you will need:

2 identical or very similar 80 mm fans
3 computer expansion slot covers
lots of electrical tape
2 machine screws and their corresponding nuts
old cd drive
5000 ohm rheostat (variable resistor)
on/off switch
insulated electrical wire

Tools:

drill
1/8 inch bit
3/8 inch bit
soldering iron
solder
12 volt power supply (for testing)
alligator jumpers (for testing)
hot glue gun
wire strippers
pliers

I already had all these parts, so this cost me a big old zero dollars, but if you had to buy everything except a cd drive, this would probably cost you 20 bucks or so.

If  you have the screws for your fan and a DVD cover, you can cut pieces off from the cover, punch holes, and use four pieces and 8 screws to bind the two fans. Any other plastic, ( or thin metal ) should work just as well. ( if you have a drill )

I have no need for this because I use my laptop all the time and I know my dad won't dare let me touch the pc or I might get carried away with mods lol. Overall I just love the quality of you instructables both in build and instructions. Keep it up!

Very good job. A little help with step 3: If you stretch the tape to the end, it will unstick and its end will lift. Must be left loose, not tight, the last half lap. Pardon my Google Translator English.
