This instructable will teach you how to make Duct Tape roses, They are pretty good for valentines day and other events like fund raisers.

*EDIT*
The original idea came from the duct tape club www.ducktapeclub.com. But their Instructions are very vague and there is only four non informative pictures, after making these roses for a year or so i have my own style that I am sharing

I made mine for my boyfriend on Valentines day. We agreed to make each other something handmade since money was short. It wasnt perfect, but it came from the heart. Couldn't have done it without this instructable!!!

This is my twist on the roses. The pink one is a rose that i made for my boyfriends mother for mothers day. The rest of the are pens. The really colorful one is my most favorite!

I think I will try this with pipe cleaner, or some springy wraparound thing, so then I can take the flower off and change pens when the ink runs out.

I decided to make a dozen roses for the girl I am attempting to woo for Valentine's Day. I used your Instructable for the heads of the flowers, but changed the stems up - I used thicker wire and did a straight wrap instead of spiral. But they turned out FANTASTIC and I couldn't have done it without this Instructable!!!
Mr. Thirty6 says: Oct 18, 2011. 12:10 AM
Perhaps one thing you can do to make the end of the wire safer is bending it around and crimping the end (pliers needed for thicker wire).

or you could just put duct tape around a straw and sticking the middle of the flower in the straw. thats what i do. :P

I did everything like you said too but it doesn't look as good as that.
Any possibility of a video?
Herrozerro (author) in reply to Ragnar_SvardfriOct 20, 2009. 5:15 PM
Never Fear!  I have read this and i will be working on a video!
Ragnar_Svardfri in reply to HerrozerroOct 21, 2009. 12:33 PM
Awesome!
Because my roses look good but they don't look nearly as good as those.
FoReVa_LiFeSuRvIvOr in reply to Ragnar_SvardfriApr 27, 2011. 6:34 PM
IU think it also helps if you kind of bend the petals down at the end

These roses are great. I bought some colored duct tape and managed to make a whole stack, and they look really nice inside a vase.

I also found this great website while searching up other instructions:

They have a bunch of interesting ideas, people should check them out.

kerneykid1 says: Nov 13, 2010. 2:17 PM
i made a duct tape rose on the end of a ink tube, the cut theouter shell of the pen to fit, then taped it.
HortonHugen09 says: Jun 21, 2010. 10:17 AM
you can also use a pencil for your stem and then wrap it in duct tape (preferably green)
CamillaLuvzMusic in reply to HortonHugen09Nov 10, 2010. 4:35 PM
Makes it hard to sharpen-use a pen. mechanical pencils cant be pumped if you tape over the top, so pens work well. If you can find a green pencil thats awesome, but remember you'll be taping over the eraser no matter what.

I'm building a duck tape prom tuxedo and this will definitely prove invaluable to me and my finishing touches. Kudos.
