Duct Tape Rose

Step 5 Building off of the base

Repeat steps 2 and 3 to get petals.

When adding petals I have found that it works the best if you add them in the fashion in the picture below, at an angle and then wrapping them.

I can get mine to flair out like that. they always end up looking like a cup...lol. any tips?

i acually had the same problem when i started then but then i learned to make the flat sides at prety close to the same point on the stem what i think your doing is making it go up ;)

i quite like this instructable its pretty cool im gona make a bunch for mothers day ; oh and my pedals are all uneven what should i do to help this? its looks all messed up

the roses look amazing...BUT the picture is not the best for step 5. Maybe you could put a number of different ones in. Thankyou anyway

Right about here is where mine starts looking retarded. I did everything you said, with the angle and the folding the tape and all, but mine starts to wrinkle on the inside. How can I fix this? Am I wrapping them too tight or something? Please help me out...

Well I'd say first off, make sure the tape is all flattened out. Smooth it out with your fingers and take the time to make sure that no wrinkles form when you fold the tape. I've been practicing with masking tape and my trick to making it look nice is to do the angle thing and: Place the pedal on the rose and adjust it so that it makes the rose look nice from the top and from 45 from the top. as in: The top: | 45 degrees from the top / get it? Also try to balance out the concentration of pedals on the rose so it doesn't look too dense in one part and less dense in others.
