Duct Tape Wallet/Sleeve by The_K-man
Well, first instructable. So I saw this contest, and I decided to try something new, not sure if it qualifies as a wallet, but it holds money and pens. There are already so many attempts at normal bifold duct tape wallets, so I decided not to show how I make mine. (They're pretty nice)

I made this in about 30 minutes just to get the idea out there. It needs a lot of finishing work, I went pretty fast and sloppy, but if people think its a good idea, I'll try to work out the kinks and make a high-quality version.

I decided sometimes, wallets are too bulky, and I always need to use pens, but i get stabbed when I put them in my pants pockets. (I don't use chest pockets or pocket protectors.... not my style)

All you need is duct tape, a couple rubber bands, velcro, and a knife.

When you're done, you'll have a place to discreetly place your money and your pens. The sleeve can easily be hidden under the sleeve of a jacket.

Anyways, lets start... If any of my instructions seem vague, I highly suggest you look at the picture steps, they're way more clear.

I'm open to any suggestions.

Ductape dose not breathe well, I could see that getting sweaty very quickly.  haha But interesting design. Its an original.

Seems to me like more of a "arm-mounted pocket protector" than a wallet.

hahaha! yup...

I think I'd rather stick it on my leg, but that would be pretty weird... reaching up your pant leg in public... OOH. XD

Wouldn't it be easier and just as effective to just put a rubber band around your arm and then put the money and stuff under it -- no duct tape involved?

great idea, but something should go on the end of the money bills otherwise it would be fairly easy to snatch it away from you, or even better, have a layer over the bills so others don't notice all that money your carrying around

This "wallet" makes me think "gawd... ductape again..." and it looks quite ugly. Also the bills are not covered in any way. Combining it with the looks makes it a "use only longsleeve clothing". But the idea is great. It just needs improvements. As for the "totally unrelated": there too good looking to be made from duct tape... But as for me I would be interested in the details like the buisness card dispenser.

why not just tape money to your thigh? i doubt any pickpocket could get to that without you noticing.
randomguy96 says: May 25, 2008. 10:34 PM
