Introduction: Duct Tape and Credit Card Tablet/Phone Stand

In this instructable, I will show you how to make a stand for a tablet or phone. This is my first instructable, so don't be too harsh.

Step 1: Materials

For this project, the required materials are:
3 credit cards (I got mine when I stayed in a hotel, but any will do)
duct tape (you don't need more than 2 meters)

the tools required are:
scissors (make sure they are sharp)
pen (to mark your cuts)

Some paper might also be nice to make templates.

Step 2: Cutting

Only one credit card needs to be cut. For that card, you first need to cut it in half.
I used some paper and cut it to the width, then folded the paper in half. i then lined up the folded paper with the edge of the card and marked the middle with a pen. Then you can cut it.

Next, cut it to approximately the same design as the final picture. Try to get the two halves as close as possible in design. This will be where the bottom of your device rests, so make it accurate. The line is a fold line.

Step 3: Folding and Taping

To make it more collapsible, you need to be able to hook the ends together when it is flat. To do this hook the ends together and put it against one of the other cards. Then bend the extra around the card. Unhook the two half pieces and make the bends 90 degrees. Attach the half pieces to the full card like in the final picture with duct tape.

Step 4: More Taping

While this looks good, it is unstable and needs a piece on the back. This is where the third card comes in. Tape the card to the back like in the picture. You can also cover the arms. Now you are done! Enjoy your new stand.

Step 5: Final Thoughts

I made this stand to hold my tablet horizontally, but but flipping the card that is standing up to be taller than wider and editing the other pieces, you can hold it the other way. When I get enough more cards, I'll make an instructable for that too.
