Internet has become the most popular medium of playing online entertainment games,<a href="http://www.quellefromage.com" target="_blank">casino online</a> and online sports. Still board games are very much popular, which is a good thing.
It was, as others said, a template to make a disposable Scrabble game. But, from the scrabble.com website: "All intellectual property rights in and to the game are owned in the U.S.A and Canada by Hasbro Inc., and throughout the rest of the world by J.W. Spear & Sons Limited of Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, a subsidiary of Mattel Inc. Mattel and Spear are not affiliated with Hasbro." So any variation or reproduction of Scrabble in any form is illegal, and the project was removed from the website.
this guy has nothing better to do than rain on everyones parade. In his marshmallow gun post, it is obvious from his dialogue that he is a loser that never will experience the joy of doing something ridiculously complicated to bring a simple smile to a childs face--and the memories!
Hey, I am just as fond of complicated machinery as the next guy! I'm a big fan of Rube Goldberg. And if my explanation of why someone's project was deleted was incorrect, then by all means feel free to "rain on my parade". But just because I post an accurate answer to someone's question doesn't merit this kind of vituperation.
just a thought, if this was banned for giving instructions on how to make a scrabble board then shouldnt any pictures of scrabble boards be banned aswell? step 1. just do a google images search for scrabble, find a descent pic, then print out step2. print off some letters with the right values in subscript!
The wording must have been wrong. If legal advice had been sought this may have been posted legitimately (not that I expect this). Perhaps the registered trademark "Scrabble" was used? Regarless, these events do suck, anyone can draw up their own Scrabble(R) or Monopoly(R) board... that people tell you how is somewhat irrelavent.
Phew! I thought it was something like violent-illegal. Glad to see that there are still nonviolent illegal acts going on... or am I? I am not glad to see illegal acts, but nonviolent is better than violent!
As I recall, this project was a "Disposable Scrabble Game". It was a single page PDF with a scrabble board and cut-out tiles, so you could print a scrabble game on your printer and cut out the pieces with scissors.
Just had a brilliant idea.. I will laminate the whole sheet and then have grandchildren cut out the board and letters...soldiers don't always have access to scissors.
Thanks am printing on 90# cardstock to send in our goodie boxes to the troops, enclosed in a gallon sized ziplock with snackbag for the letters and a copy of Scrabble rules. many thanks!
