Make your refrigerator personalized with your own crappy magnets.

Here's the deal- after seeing the all the magnet Instructibles,
and having magnets
and a refrigerator
and crap to go on it,
I figured why not make and add my own magnets.
I had leftover business card magnet blanks.
These are the type with a removable paper back with a sticky side for attaching a business card.
As I am working on ways to become more organized, I was throwing things away .
Some of these items were perfect for being re purposed for refer magnets.
I choose some goof-ball things that mean something to me.
So it makes sense to use things that means something to you as well.

Step 1: CheapGeek- Gather materials

Here's the deal- after seeing the all the magnet Instructibles,
and having magnets
and a refrigerator
and crap to go on it,
I figured why not make and add my own magnets.
I had leftover business card magnet blanks.
These are the type with a removable paper back with a sticky side for attaching a business card.
As I am working on ways to become more organized, I was throwing things away .
Some of these items were perfect for being re purposed for refer magnets.

Your Materials:
1. Crap- to serve as Magnets. If your stuff is more interesting, your magnets will be more interesting.
2. Magnets different types and / or sizes.
3. Refrigerator
4. Glue- hot glue or some other suitable sticky stuff.

Step 2: CheapGeek- Make Magnet Refrigerator Art.

Take your items and make art.

The item weight should not exceed the stickiness of the sticky stuff -or- the strength of the magnet
used to attach it to the refrigerator.

After you've stuck the magnets to the crap you've selected as refrigerator art,
stick them to the refrigerator.

I rather personalize my refridgerator than my wall. I like keeping my walls white. It makes the room seem bigger. Besides, magnets stick the to refridgerator without damaging its surface by leaving tape marks or tack holes in it. You have to destroy your walls to decorate them. Having lived in 6 apartments in 4 years I can say that fixing the walls every time I have to move has become more trouble than it's worth. On a more practical note, magnets can be used to hold things to the refridgerator such as reminder notes or messages for loved ones. And since everyone is bound to visit the refridgerator at least once daily, it is a practical venue for communication. It is much more practical than tacking daily reminder notes to the walls in the hope that someone chances by it.
Good way to reset your memory stick on your digital cameras and casette tape.

Yeah- I know- I like to do the name thing. It originally started as a way to get extra credit in a college class I was taking. If you were on the Internet and could be found by search engines, you would receive "X" amount of points. You're right a lot of people do this. It's not original by any means..Plus it gives me an excuse to put my Rebel XT DSLR to use.

There is no real reason for you to put your name in the front of the Instructable, but anyways, aside from that, most people do this anyways, if they have something they want to put on the fridge. Even so, you did actually document it,... not bad...
