Totally agree with you on the lack of selection of compatible headsets for PS2.You chose to hardwire your H.S. straight into the box, I h8 to solder,so in my setup I chose to install a 3.5 mm. stereo female plug. Now I can interchange between H.S.s any time without having to resort to surgery, H.S.s tend to be a common casualty amongst the gamer community.

Sorry about the "late" reply, but you you can TRY to use hot glue, but it'll be really hard and the quality will be SHITTYYYYY You can get solder, an iron and anything else you need (assuming you live in teh states) at your local Radio Shack store. The actual iron costs around $15 and they include some solder and everything. Another modification that I am going to do with this, is I'm going to get some Female headphone plug(you need 2) and 2 more male plugs(Although the stock headset's sorta small, I'm getting used to it so I might keep it) and I'm going to hang plugs out of the box, that way I can buy a headset and not have to strip the ends, and at the same time I can use the headset on my computer (logitech headsets work on a pc anyways, but still...) So recap, 1. You CAN use hot glue, but it's HIGHLY un-recommended 2. Solder/Irons are sold at Radio Shack and cost around $15 3. A recommendation I gave is to get 2 FEMALE 3.5mm Headphone plugs (and if you want, males too for the stock headset) and hand those out, that way you don't have to kill an entire perfectly good headset. P.S. Great idea btw. :)

I am doing somting relative to this but what I would like to do is use a bluetooth headset adapter instead of the headset you are using. my bluetooth headset adapter has 1 red wire, 1 white wire, and one silver wire(ground)...My usb headset for the ps2 is like the original socom (mono i believe) headset with 1 red and ground, and 1 white and ground...Could someone please tell me which wire goes with which and any other special instructions to get this to work. Thanks!

ya i tried the same thing. i know what you need to do i think. if you have and old stereo with a line in part and it gets its power from your house you can hook it up to that. its a bit too big i think it will work.
