Here is a skateboard decked out with EL Wire. This is a really fun DIY project, especially for skating/longboarding at night. Have fun and be creative!

Materials:

Wire cutter
25' Pink EL Wire kit
Skateboard
Black flat spray paint
Painters tape
X-Acto Knife
E-6000 glue
Heating gun
Screwdriver
Wrench

Step 1: Strip the Vinyl Decal

Unscrew the 2 trucks that are underneath the deck. When this is done, score the sections on the image which is on the bottom of the deck. By cutting sections of the image, this will make the vinyl decal easier to rip off. Then place the heating gun at the edge of the deck. Take the point of the X-Acto knife and lift the image off the deck. You will continue to do so until the entire board is complete and you are left with a blank surface.

I love skateboarding and this is very cool. But can you grind and revert without breaking the lights?

I wouldn't recommend doing too many tricks with the EL wire attached. It wouldn't affect the wire, however it may cause damage to the inverter. This design was inspired more for night time cruising, such as using longboard.
