Step 3Mark the spine

If your cover is thin enough to fold, measure the width of your pages from both ends and mark a line. The space in between these two lines is the spine.

Otherwise, measure the width of your pages in from both sides. Mark these lineds, and score them on both sides using an X-Acto or utility blade. Be careful not to cut all the way through, or you'll be sorry (though if you do accidentally cut through, you can prepare them similarly to a casebound cover).
