Instructables
Fun with misused hardware supplies. Pretty simple: 1) Make a skeleton with pvc and attach it to a piece of plywood. 2) Use chicken wire to create the form. The eyes are kick balls. 3) The skin is good ol' duct tape (much easier than the paper and glue thing). 4) Paint. 5) To get it on the roof I had to actually contruct a ramp and pulley system - if not careful this can quickly become a guillotine. 6) Last step was to put more holes in my roof. And there you have it.

That is brilliant. And, of course, the Duct Tape is a lot more water resistant than the papier mache ever would be, which is perfect for being on your roof!

That looks awesome! Can you give me the approximate pipe lengths used in your frame? It's a bit hard to eyeball.

Thanks! I used approximately 20' of I think 1.25" pipe with a variety of elbow joints. Plus another 3' for the teeth. Sorry for the lack of detail, I was making it up as I went and made multiple trips to Home Depot during the trial and error effort. I'll take notes from now on.

If you remember the approximate dimensions you could easily add them to the first picture with photonotes. Next year you should definitely add a clawed foreleg, wing, or tail popping through a bit away from the dino head for added drama. There's a whole year to prepare, right?

There was actually an 8' tail busting out of the brick by the front door but it didn't turn out as I hoped and I had difficulty keeping it attached to the wall so I had to take it down.
Nice! Next time you can try bending PVC pipe as well. Gives you more freedom and you don't have to buy so many joints.

Crazy!!!! This is so awesome I’ve got to try this a+
Awesome. you should leave it up there a little while after halloween, and then make one without the dinasaur, so it looks like it actually damaged your roof.
