Step 1: Gather materials

To create this Picnic Basket you will need a box, some cardboard, a long narrow piece of cardboard or paper, some Makedo Re-clips, two elastic bands and some old newspaper or wrapping paper.

Step 2: Sketch out the lid

Add two tabs each side of the box shape you have traced and mark a dot in the middle of both tabs. This shape will become the lid of your picnic basket.

Step 3: Cut out and fold

Cut around your traced shape and poke a hole in each tab where you marked a dot.Try to fold either side of the tabs up a little, as they will become the flaps on your picnic basket!

Step 4: Prepare box for lid

Poke a hole in opposite sides of your box. If you place your cut out lid on top of your box, you can use the side-tabs as a guide for your holes.

Step 5: Attach a handle and the lid

Poke a hole in both ends of your long narrow piece of cardboard (this will become your handle). Push a Re-clip through one end of the narrow piece, then through one of the tabs of the lid, and finally through one side of the box and secure with the back of the reclip. Repeat on the other side.

Step 6: Attach elastic bands

Attach some Makedo Re-clips through the top and sides of each end of your basket and attach a elastic band each side. These act as latches to keep the basket lid firmly shut!

Step 7: Add some decorative lining

Scruch up some newspaper or wrapping paper, unscrunch, and put it into the basket as a lining. Now you are ready for your Easter hunt and collect eggs, go on a picnic!
