These chocolate covered strawberries are really easy to make and will rival any of those that you find at the store, and they are much cheaper to make at home. If I can make these you can make these, go out there and impress your friends and family or special someone and make these delicious chocolate covered strawberries! Let's get started!

If you have any questions or comments, put them down below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Follow the easy steps or watch the short video tutorial or do both!

Step 1: Ingredients/Tools

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries (washed and dried)
  • Milk chocolate (candy bar, chocolate chips, candy melts)
  • Dark chocolate (candy bar, chocolate chips, etc.)
  • White chocolate (bar, chips, etc.)

Toppings (optional):

  • Coconut flakes
  • Nuts
  • Mini-chocolate chips

Helpful Tools:

Step 2: Wash, Dry, Melt

First let's wash and dry our strawberries completely. Now we take our chocolate and melt it in the microwave or use the double boiler method. If using the microwave, start with 30 seconds, then stir the chocolate with a spoon, then 30 more seconds, then stir, then 10 seconds, stir, 10 seconds, until nice and melted. The chocolate should be fairly runny. If you are having a hard time getting the chocolate runny, use a tsp. or 2 of shortening, and melt it in there with the chocolate, it will thin it out.

Step 3: Method 1 - Dip and Place

There are a couple of methods that you can do, first we will take a strawberry and pull up the green leafs/stem part, then dip it in the chocolate and then let the excess drizzle off, then place it on a silicone mat or a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Step 4: Method 2 - Stick, Dip, Stick

If you do not like your strawberries to have a flat chocolate spot on it, you can stick a tooth pick in the step area, then dip your strawberry, then stick it in some styrofoam.

Step 5: Decorating - Toppings

Now all the rest of the steps have to do with decorating the strawberries and making them all fancy. Right after dipping them in the chocolate you can roll them in your toppings, nuts, coconut flakes, mini chocolate chips, etc. Then place on your mat or parchment paper.

Step 6: Decorating - Tuxedo Strawberry

For the classic Tuxedo looking strawberry, take your strawberry and dip the front in white chocolate, then let it sit for a few minutes or put it in the fridge so the chocolate sets faster. Then take it and dip it at an angle on both sides, making sure to let the excess chocolate drizzle off. Next just take a toothpick and get a bit of chocolate on it, and then place little buttons on the white chocolate area, simple as that! :)

Step 7: Decorating - the Drizzle

Now if you want to get that classic drizzle look, take a piping bag or plastic bag and at a little bit of white chocolate or any flavor, snip off the tip, and then squeeze the chocolate down towards the tip, next just gently drizzle the chocolate out onto your strawberries. :) When you are all done decorating, place the strawberries in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes to completely set. There you go amazing chocolate covered strawberries! Now it's your turn! :)

I don't have the patience to do this but I appreciate how beautiful these are. I eat them all before the chocolate has a chance to harden.
