all the pics i had of making the helmet got deleted so ill try my best to explain what i did.

total coast: 50$

for those of you with money i suggest finding a better tut.
this is meant for those who are unfortunate enough to not go over 40$

!?!?!?!?!?!?! BY THE WAY I JUST BOUGHT SOMETHING CALLED THE "X-STICK" IT TUNES ANYTHING IT STICKS ONTO, INTO A SPEAKER, SO IF YOU GET THIS (30$) YOU CAN CONNECT IT TO YOU IPOD AND STICK IT TO THE LIP OF YOUR DEADMOU5 HELMET AND PLAY MUSIC WHERE EVERY YOU GO!?!?!?!?!?

Step 1: Materials

5$ -16" Kids Play Ball (pic below) ***DO NOT USE A BEACH BALL, THEY ARE TOO THIN AND WEAK AND IT WILL MORPH****
0$ - News Paper (LOTS)
4$ - Flour/Glue (papermache)
0$ - foam (i got mine from my dads work, but if you want get it for free then just buy it, form hobby lobby or home depo.)
5-15$ - spray paint
5$ - PushLights (i found mine at Salvation Army, you can probably get them in a yard sale or any home supply store/walmart)
0$ - Nuts&Bolts (again, got mine from my dads work, get them from a junk yard or just buy them.)
0$ - Cardboard (use pizza boxes, i went behind McDonald and took the boxes they had in the bin.)
3$ - Hard Helmet (Salvation Army, they usually get a few)

and of course the most expensive.
30$ - Fiberglass
30$ - Bondo (optional)

Step 2: Paper Mache/Fiberglass

1. first put the ball in a safe place that will be untouched for the next few days
i used a small bowl and places the ball in it, so its easy'r to paper mache the ball without it rolling away.
2. Cut the newspaper into long 2inch thick strips (about 7" long is fine)
3. make the paper mache. (i wont go threw this because theres plenty of fast tutorials online for paper mache)
****can just be flour and water this is only going to be the base****
4. coat the news paper strips with the paper mache and start placing them on the ball overlapping.
5. after each layer wait until it dries before applying the next layer
6. after all 4-6 layers are done check for any deformities within the paper (blobs, holes, folds, ect)
***remember you CAN sand paper mashe***
7.take the ball out of the bowl and place it on concrete or a hard surface. (where it wont stick or roll away) prepare the fiberglass and do the same as applying paper mashe, but this time MAKE SURE THERE'S NO BUBBLES before it dries. (wont go over preparing fiberglass because theres fast tutorials online)
8. leave it to dry for 24h's
9. check for any bubbles once dry, use sand paper in order to make the ball into a PERFECT smooth sphere.(if you find that you fucked up and there's alot of bubbles, dont worry, this happened to me too)
10. ***if you do have bubbles, then you can either buy BONDO and fill in the holes, or just use paper mashe in order to patch the holes. i would suggest bondo, because the new paper will absorb the spray paint making it all fuzzy and nasty, thats how mine is.***
11.when your satisfied, start drawing in and cutting out the mouth and the eye holes.

Step 3: PAINT/EARS

1. when your happy with EVERYTHING get the paint ready!
2. first apply the primer. (i forgot this step so my paint is peeling off and its cracking bad)
3. get creative! ( use stencil's use random colors use chrome DO WHAT YOU WANT)
4. i suggest painting the inside of the head Black.
5. leave to dry
6. Admire your artwork
7.cut out the ears from the cardboard (13"x14") really it can be what ever size you want, i just went by the pic and copied it free hand.
8. get thick 1" foam, enough to make both ears form it.
9. ***you can also fiberglass the ears and Bando them so they look really cool. (i didnt becuase i didnt have the money)***
10. cut the Rod into the desirable length and place it within the ears (pic)
11. paint the cardboard cut out to what ever color you want.
12. paste the cardboard peace onto the foam cutout WITH the rods in place
13. shoos where you want your ears to be places (pic) and make the holes for the rods.
14. place the ears on, add the nuts. and look at your deadmou5 head.

Step 4: EYES/MOUTH

1. add the batteries to the lights.
2. use some STRONG glue and attach it to the "RIM" of the push light (on the white hard plastic not the clear white plastic that you push)
3. attach the lights from the inside onto the helmet and wait till it dries.
4.mouth: get some 2" thick foam and place it as the lip of you mouth. if you do a good job you can keep it as the lip. but if not continue with the tutorial.
5. use thin cardboard (or anything that would look cool) and cut it into the "U"shape of the lip, make it 2" thick.
6. for the mouth. i have no idea yet because i haven't done that myself so just look online for that.

dont comment saying the mou5 head sucks or the tutorial sucked, i know they both sucked but it was all i could do considering my pics got deleted. im just trying to give advice for those who dont know.

but instead of using fabric im going to make it complete chrome so the lights will reflect off of it inside the raves.
