Introduction: Easy Halloween Paper Chain Streamers

About: Community Manager for Instructables and Tinkercad.

I wanted to make some fun paper chains for Halloween and I hate that you usually have to cut long strips of paper and then tape them together if you want a really long chain. Then I realized that those cheap streamers you can get at the Dollar Store are prefect for this!

Step 1: Supplies

Supplies:

  • Orange, White and/or Black Streamers (1$ at Dollar Store) - or you can just use paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch (Helps with som of the details like on the ghost and pumpkin
  • Binder clip
  • Image you want to cut out (PDF attached)

Step 2:

The first thing you need to do is figure out the side of your fold. I clipped the image (attached) to the streamer and then just started folding back and forth as you would with a paper chain.

Keep doing this until it is the length you want. Remember, the thicker/longer it is, the harder it will be to cut. One idea is to leave it attached to the roll of streamers even when you cut it out and then just start over again from where you left off.

Once you have it as long as you want cut it and cut it out. Remember, you need the edge of the image to go off the edge of the folded square so that the image will repeat. I used the hole punch for the ghosts eyes. It was too thick to do it all at once, so I punch half of it, then punched the other half.

Step 3:

When you are done, hang them up! If you want them to show up better you can put them on top of another color streamer like I did with the ghost.

Have fun decorating for Halloween!
