This quick and easy tomato salad is a nice alternative to a garden salad. Tasty, garden fresh tomatoes, tangy feta cheese, sweet onions, and savory herbs will delight your taste buds.

Step 1: The Ingredients

A garden ripe tomato
Feta cheese (may substitute fresh mozarella, goat cheese...)
Fresh herbs from the garden (garlic chives, basil...)
Olive oil (you might try almond oil, seasame oil.....)
Vinegar (I recommend balsamic or rice vinegar)
Freshly ground pepper

Step 2: Prep Your Ingredients

Wash and dry herbs.
Wash and thinly slice the tomato.
Thinly slice the onion.
Crumble the cheese

Step 3: Assemble the Salad

Alternate layers of sliced of tomato and onions on a salad plate. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese over the top of the onion and tomatoes. Next add the chopped herbs. Drizzle olive oil and vinegar over the salad. Season with freshly ground black pepper, salt to taste.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Savor the taste of summer!

cant wait to try it...........
This looks very good :-) very easy to make, very colourful. Lots of textures there and flavours that work together.
I love feta.... we never have it around, though.... :(
This looks delicious! Not a huge fan of onions, but willing to give it a shot.
Would you be willing to give voting in the pie contest a shot?
Besides, if you cut them thin and cook them well, they get a sweet flavour. Throw some port or brandy at them and cook something from there, like curry! Endless possibilities, mate!
Onions are great, especially when cooked with olive oil. Onions make the best stuff to eat on a funny summer night with some beer and good talk.
Perhaps you like peaches better.....check out the pie contest.
Neither was I ......till I found some great recipes!

CONGRATULATIONS LINUXMOM! Tell your son I said Sparta. :-)

No you didn't!
Milkshake! Five points for being random! Or five points deducted for using an inside joke that I don't understand...
Peach Pie! Have you voted in the pie contest.....
Hey, even I don't understand it..............the son just happened to be stand there and replied under my name........
Inside joke
Looks amazing. I have a variation of this I make with cucumbers.
Thanks, tastes good too .......Will you share the recipe?
honestly? chop everything finer, add some chopped cucumbers, kalamata olives, and anchovies. It's just about the exact same thing, but I call mine greek salad. I've never tried keeping everything sliced, I'm going to have to try that next time i do this. I'll bet the texture is pretty darn good..
LinuxMom asked me to tell you to please vote. Thanks!
Sounds like what I call a Persian salad---dice cukes, onions, and tomatoes and dress with either oil and vinegar or lemon juice ( and of course salt and pepper). Perhaps their ought to be a salad contest...............
So do I but I dice everything up. and add more vinegar.
Try using a sweet onion, it will change and enhance the taste in a differnt way.
Personally, I like red onions with this salad. Sigh......it was a speed contest .....
hey... I'm from Greece and i was going to upload a video how to make a Greek salad, well it seems that u got it 1st but i'll anyway upload mine too... ;) Good Job nice... ( i love that salad)
