Introduction: Easiest Way to Make Cheese Fondue

Picture of Easiest Way to Make Cheese Fondue

Ever since I was introduced to cheese fondue I was hooked. Who wouldn’t love this hot, yummy, cheesy goodness, all in a pot?! If you’re all about low carbs or low fat, you’ll need to look elsewhere. For years, I spent a lot more money to buy Gruyere cheese, but I came up with this much more frugal version. Plus it’s easier to make with these shredded cheeses. Step 3: Mix Cheeses With Cornstarch, Then Add to Pot 1/2 Cup at a Time

The trick to making the cheeses melt well together is to first mix them up in a large bowl with the cornstarch. This keeps the cheese from clumping together. Add about 1/3 to 1/2 of a cup of cheese to the wine at a time, let it melt, then add more cheese until it's all in the fondue pot.

Step 4: Enjoy!

My favorite bread to use is the Roasted Garlic Bread from Costco.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

Nice instructable. (As a Swiss I will try look over the use of non-swiss-cheese, but its hard ;-) )
Just an other insider tip: Fondue should always be stirred in a 8-shape. It prevents the cheese from backing to the pan in the Center.

I always have Gruyere on hand too, but my kids now prefer my "easy method" :) Great tip on the stirring, I'll try that next time, thanks!
