The rolls will be baked in a 9 x 13 pan.
The roll are easy to make but if you have a bread machine it can be even easier.
If you have a bread machine add all of the ingredients to the bread machine and use the dough cycle and skip step 2 and 3.
For everyone else follow all of the steps to make yummy rolls by hand.

I don't have a thermometer, so how do I know when the milk is hot enough?
kerri2357 in reply to acordeiro-garbettNov 23, 2011. 7:09 PM
I don't have a thermometer either, so I just heated the milk slowly over medium-low heat and heated it with the butter in it. When the butter was just barely melted, I dripped a little of the mixture on the inside of my wrist (like testing a baby bottle). It should feel warm but not hot on your skin there. Too hot liquid will kill the yeast, so If it feels hot, let it cool a bit before you add the other stuff to it,

Good luck!

These were so good! This was my first time baking anything and I didn't even have a kitchen aid mixer. I was surprised at how easy it was!

This is by far the best, lightest and yummy yeast roll recipe I have ever made!! I threw it all in my wonderful bread machine!

I love this web site, I have been to many sites but I love how you have broken down the process and posted pictures. I am a visual learner and this is a great help. I take lap top in kitchen and have it right there to refrence if I need it. The easy rolls are awesome. A great one to use when starting out making bread and what every new bride should have. Keep up the great site.

thanks for the recipe! I've never made bread before (apart from cornbread!), this is a great recipe for a 'first timer'. They came out pretty good!

These are so easy and delicious. I forgot to add the butter until the dough was already starting to rise. I poured the melted butter on it in the bowl and tried to work it in as best I could and it still turned out delicious. I'm never buying rolls again. Thanks so much for sharing this great recipe.

Guess I'll save it and write it out by hand, since in order to get a printed copy you want me to become a member and pay you for the priveledge of being able to print it out. Otherwise I have to print out 10 pages.

Sometimes my family has to celebrate holidays early, this year it was Thanksgiving. I made two batches of these and everyone loved them. So I made them again tonight with dinner. I think I could make these every day.

One question though, if I were to leave the dough in one ball (not split up into individual rolls), would I be able to bake it up like a regular loaf of bread? Or would it not cook on the inside or burn on the outside?

I made these this weekend and they were so super-easy! Thanks for posting such a great instructable!

I've made this 3 times using my bread machine and I LOVE it! I didn't have any milk though but I did have buttermilk, and the rolls had the most delicious tang, almost sourdough flavor.

Fantastic! I love to bake all kinds of breads and this is going to be a go to! I've been looking for a good roll recipe for quite sometime, so CHEERS to you!
MercuryCrest says: Mar 3, 2011. 1:29 PM
One question: With the butter, do you melt it, or use the biscuit method and work it into the flour while it's cold?
Calorie in reply to MercuryCrestMar 3, 2011. 8:42 PM
Good question. In this case melt it. And buy salt free butter. It's in the normal dairy aisle. You can add salt to the mixture during the process.
SeaLion says: Mar 3, 2011. 12:13 PM
Definitely gonna try this out once I have some time on my hands.
Though I have a lot of plain flour and bread flour seems quite expensive nowadays...is it ok to use plain flour?
boocat in reply to SeaLionMar 3, 2011. 2:40 PM
Bread flour has a higher gluten content, is all.
Calorie in reply to boocatMar 3, 2011. 8:41 PM
Yes, you can use plain flour. No discernible effects unless you bake a lot.
