Introduction: Easy, Natural/everyday Makeup Pictorial

Hi Everyone!

As much as some of us may LOVE makeup, unfortunately everyday can't be spent in color wonderland, or "beat-face" galore. For a quick, super easy, natural everyday makeup routine, please follow along! This is great for days when you're in a hurry, or want to keep it simple but don't want to go out bare-faced.

I hope you enjoy and find this useful in some way or another. :) Products used are listed in each step and again in the final step.

ps: I have combination-oily skin.

Step 1: Prime and Moisturize

Apply Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm to the skin with your fingertips, dotting all over the face. This product is multifaceted, and acts as your oil-free moisturizer (obviously tinted), makeup primer, and provides SPF 20.

Step 2: Set and Lock the Product

This step helps the Too Faced Beauty Balm stay in place, and controls oil as well. Use little product at a time, especially if you want to build more coverage, to avoid the over powdered cake-y look.

Shake out about a dime sized amount of the Bare Minerals Original Foundation (for each section of the face) into the cap; press into the skin with ELF Kabuki Face Brush. I normally start on my cheeks first, then my forehead, nose, and chin. After pressing into the skin, I buff the excess product all over my face (no need to add more foundation, just use what's left on the brush).

Step 3: Bronze It Up!

Apply Rimmel Natural Bronzer using Bare Minerals Flawless Face Brush. I really like using this brush because of it's softness. Since the brush is not so dense and heavy, it applies the bronzer very smoothly and is great for an everyday look such as this one, where we don't necessarily want a contour, but do want to add some color and some dimension to the face. I like to use the top of my ear as a guide to start - sweep the product back and forth, then up around the temples and outer edges of the forehead, the sides of the nose, bottom of the chin, jawline and neck area. Again, use a light hand: we don't want a contour, just some color and dimension, so we don't look flat or washed out.

Step 4: Optional Step - Highlight

Optional Step: You can choose to skip this. I usually only do this if I want my face to look a bit more done up and lighten up the under eye area.

I used Ulta's Fabulous Face Liquid Concealer. It's not among my favorites, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to those with more mature skin as it tends to settle in fine lines. However it does blend easily, and it's the one I reached for at the time.

Work fast with this concealer as it does dry pretty quickly. I just apply it in a small, modest v-shape beneath the eyes (one at a time since it dries fast), then press it in with my ring finger. I finish it off by gently pressing it in and blending it out from the bottom up using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. This brush is great for anything liquid, creme or gel, and is one of my faves. ;) To set it I grab my ELF Kabuki Face Brush (with no extra product added) and gently pat and buff over the area where I applied concealer. I also wipe any extra concealer off my finger tips down the bridge of my nose and set that as well.

Step 5: Groom and Fill the Brows

Groom the brows using a brow groomer like this one. After grooming, lightly brush some of the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder over the brows with a small shader brush. I like this method because it does the job quickly, and if applied gently, doesn't look too overdone. Since we all have different brow shapes and thicknesses, apply the product to your liking.

My brows are somewhat full, so I just like to brush a small amount of the darker powder starting in the middle of my brow to fill in any sparse areas, then use the small angled brush that it comes with to really shape and define the upper, lower, and tail sections of the brows. When it does look somewhat thick in any area, I use a spooly brush to soften it up.

I couldn't find the shader brush I use to fill in my brows with, but any one like this will work.

Step 6: Clean and Perfect the Brows

Using a small, flat concealer brush, lightly trace the bottom and top of the brows to perfect them and accomplish the desired shape. I never go directly on the brow--I like to leave a few centimeters of space between my brow and where I start, in case too much product goes on. Once lined, I soften/blend the concealer with my fingertip, and clean up any excess with a q-tip starting from the bottom up (working towards the brow).

Concealer Brush < I assume the one I own must have been an old version since it's not on their website anymore. Any flat concealer brush will do just fine.

Step 7: Line the Eyes

For this look in particular I like using the Metal Eyed Liquid Shimmer Eyeliner by Too Faced in the color dirt bag. Instead of using black to line the eyes, using a brown (or even grey) liquid or gel liner makes a softer, more natural look, and, it really makes the lashes pop when coated with black mascara. Speaking of which, once you are done lining the eyes, gently curl the lashes and apply mascara as desired. The mascara I used is the Volum' Express Falsies.

Step 8: Add Some Gloss

I used a light, sheer pink gloss to complete my everyday, natural makeup look. You can use any neutral colored lip gloss, like a mauve-y rose, or pale pink. You could choose a nude lip, but if the color is too bright, it can look a little overdone and unnatural.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Perfect is the one I used, but I also really like this Essence Stay Matte Lip Cream in Rose
