Mackerel is an important food fish that is consumed worldwide.As an oily fish, it is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids.The flesh of mackerel spoils quickly, especially in the tropics, and can cause scombroid food poisoning. Accordingly, it should be eaten on the day of capture, unless properly refrigerated or cured.

In this topic I would like to share with you, how you can made Like Smocked Mackerel.

Ingredients:

  • Salt: 2 and a half Table spoons
  • Sugar: 1 Table Spoon
  • Fish: 2-3 cleaned
  • 4-5 bags of black tea(This time I used English black breakfast tea, also before I used Lipton black tea , not important which brand of tea will you use,but It should black tea)
  • Whole black pepper ( 12-15 )
  • Bay Leaves (2-3)
  • Water: 32-40oz.

After 4 days you will have tasty fish

Step 1: Preparing Fish

Take the fish and clean and wash,remove the innards, if you do not have cleaned the fish in the store.

Step 2: Preparation of Brine

Take a pot of water, bring the water to a boil and put in it tea bags.

On low heat let them simmer for 5 minutes

Step 3: Preparation of Brine

Cool water to room temperature, put it in salt and sugar

Step 4: Preparing Fish... Continue

In my case, I cut the fish head,no one will eat them.:))

Put them to glass container

Step 5: Preparing Fish... Continue

add pepper and bay leaves

pour the brine to cover the fish

Step 6: Wait

put the container in the refrigerator.

Two days later, took the container and turned the fish in the container. Put the container in the refrigerator for two more days

Step 7: Final Steps

Take the fish out of the brine and hang it for 1-2 hours. Allow to drain the brine.

Бrush the fish with olive oil.
You can cut into meal or can food plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator.
