Introduction: Edison Protect Us~!

Overview

Our system is a virtual security system using Intel Edison board with various sensors such as light,
mic(sound input sensor), slide potentiometer(variable resistance).
This system will helps us to easily detect any suspicious signs as people access our system by blinking LED and LCD with text, revolving servo motor and ring buzzer.
And We connect two edison boards through WiFi. Two edison boards communicate each other, so they can
transfer data of sensors or alarm signal.


Purpose of production

We intend to protect people from many emergencies. Once we used slide potentiometer that can attach
to our door, so we can know a situation as door opened. It is also extremely helpful to detect any suspicious people who make a noise and use a flashlight with a light sensor and mic sensor. There is also a servo motor that sometimes can lock door or sometimes can beat an alarm on a gong with a buzzer. We also used
a LCD and LED that can display a warning message to various smart communication devices.

Step 1: What You Need?

It is required as follows:

- Intel Edison board(Arduino Breakout board)

- Grove - Base shield

- Grove – Slide Potentiometer

- Grove – LCD RGB Backlight

- Grove – Sound Sensor

- Grove – Light Sensor

- Grove - Buzzer

- LED, 330 ohm resistor

- Servor motor

- WiFi Antenna

Step 2: Hardware Connections Part 1

Now Connect the hardware components, as follows:
First of all, Grove Base shild connect to Edsion board.

Next, Each compont connect to Base shild or Edsion Board.

-Slide Potentiometer - A0 pin
-LCD RGB Backlight - I2C
-Sound Sensor(MIC)- A1 pin
-Light Sensor - A0 pin
-Buzzer - D7 pin
-LED - D8 pin
-Servor motor - D6 pin

Step 3: Hardware Connections Part 2

If you want to connect two Edison boards, you must need two Edison board with wifi antenna.

And two Edison board must connect to wifi network.
One Edsion is a server role and the other is the client.

Now Connect the hardware components, as follows:
First of all, Grove Base shild connect to each Edsion board.
Next, Each compont connect to Base shild or Edsion Board.

1. Server side
-Touch Sensor - D7 pin
-Temperature - A0 pin
2. Client side
- LED - D8 pin

Step 4: Now Programming ^^

We make prorgram using Arduino IDE for Edsion.

You must modify Network SSID and Password in source code for your Network.

Also you must modify server IP adddress in client source code.

The source code consists of three files.

We attached 3 files :

edisonserver.ino

edisonclient.ino
