Greetings fellow education loving instuctavillians!  Today we will explore how to create a fun interactive learning tool for students to use to quiz themselves and each other and give a hands on learning activity to help them recall information later.

This instructable will guide you on how to create your own Education Boy & Girl to use as a learning tool in your classroom.  It does not stop there however!  I am giving you two different templates to use with children of various ages, so they can create their fellow learning superhero!

How long does this take to make if you are with 2nd graders
poofrabbit (author)  sassyone_368 months ago

For most students it took ~ 1 hr. However it could easily be broken into smaller parts, when I did this we used the patterns with all the small parts, if you use the larger patterns with less cut and paste it would take less time. We also did this near the begining of the year, so 2nd graders that are almost 3rd graders could truck along faster. :)

Oh wow! This is fantastic, I will give this a try with my second graders, thanks for putting up the templates!

Here are some of my kids and those in other second grade classes at my school making this awesome project!  They LOVED it!!  One of my girls are changing the look by using the face mask template turning it upside down and making it a crown.  When she is done I'll show a picture.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your pics! I would LOVE to see the Wonder Gal with her mask as a crown, a great idea! I may have to update template to suggest that! Looks to me like some of you used the templates and colored them in and some use construction paper. Did the kids have a preference? Any suggestions or tips you would like to share?
Nice. 3 months of Pro for you, ArcheryQueen. Thanks for sharing your photos. It looks like those kids are way into it.
I will! My class is working on these now and I gave it to one of my fellow second grade teachers. I will post the pictures when we get all finished, thanks for the offer!

I hope that these little superhero's can inspire kids to see how fun learning can be! I know when I was a kid there was a push on TV and print ads saying learning is fun. When I became a teacher I was bummed out because it appeared that got lost with all the restraints put on schools (I know they are for children's benefits but it's zapped some creativity.) If I can help make anything to excited kids, I'm going to do it and share! :)

You should add all of these papercraft projects to the make it real contest. You can double dip with Education!

You should really fix the typo in your title. I don't think "leering" at children is your intent. ;)

Oh dear how embarrassing!! Thank you for catching that I'll make the change.
