Here is an "egg shaped" egg rice ball. These are a few favorite variations:

egg + bacon bits

egg + peas

egg + furikake

egg + carrots + sesame

Step 1: Step 1: Ingredients

Washed & dried plastic Easter egg

Cooked rice (still hot)

Diced Cheddar cheese

Step 2: Step 2: Make Scrambled Egg

Add salt and pepper as you scramble the egg. I used four chopsticks to make a finer scrambled egg.

Step 3: Step 3: Mix

Mix the finely scrambled egg and cheese into hot rice.

Step 4: Step 4: Shake

Put rice mixture into plastic egg and shake it.

You need to shake about 30 times to every direction until you hear sound of solid rice.

Step 5: Step 5: Eat It

Ta-da! Your "egg-shaped" egg rice ball is ready to be eaten. You can nestle it on shredded cabbage to give it a real Easter look.

I love this so much. My mom used to make us arroz con huevos frito for dinner ALL the time when I was a kid. Cheap to make and plenty of protein. This bad boy is going in my recipe book ASAP.

    Hi tiaciousz,
What shape was your mom's arroz con huevos frito? Any Special ingredients?

It's a very basic dish, just fried eggs over rice! At Cuban restaurants though, the rice is usually scooped using a bowl and takes the shape of the bowl. I can't wait to make these <3

How did the rice not stick to the mould, was any oil used for the inside

Hello, thank you for your comment. I didn't put any oil. After making few rice balls, the plastic egg was getting sticky. sorry I can't answer why.

    Thank yoooooou for your comments!

    Very creative and yummy!

    Great idea ;D
