Eggnog is perfect for the holidays, in any form. This flavorful eggnog pound cake is not only delicious, but incredibly easy to make!

I'm a made-from-scratch purist, and was surprised to see recipes calling for some boxed cake mix.  But, after consulting many sources, and doing some taste tests, this seems to be the way to go. Shhhhh... let's keep it our little secret  ;)

Step 1: Ingredients

IMG_0779.JPG
You'll need:
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix. The butterier, the better
  • 1 1/2 cups eggnog
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • optional: splash of burbon, rum, or whatever else you splash in your eggnog
And while it is possible to make this batter without one, a standing mixer is ideal. You'll also need a bread loaf pan, or a bunt cake pan.

Pound Cake is one of my favorites, as is Egg Nog... The two of them together sounds simply divine!! I'll be making this for Thanksgiving, as I need a new recipe!

Great 'ible -- Thank you for sharing ;)
