Remove the old handlebar grips and any paint, dings or bumps that will not allow the throttle to slide on the handlebar with ease. There is a set screw on the throttle to secure it to the handlebar once it has been pushed into place. In the picture below the motor cut-offs (rear facing break levers) are normally used to replace existing break levers but this could not be done here since the break handle and gear changers are one unit. They still can serve a valuable role of disconnecting the throttle when getting on and off the bike. Mount the battery level indicator on the steering post as shown.
