I upgraded an electric mini bike to go faster and carry an adult about 165 to 200 lbs.
Step 1: Upgrade the motor
Take out the wimpy motor that came with this bike. It is so weak and under powered, it barely moved with children on it!
Step 2: Upgrade the rear tire
The tire that came with this bike is so tiny, I had to change it to level out the bike with my adult size! I got a 9" tire from the Tractor store on sale $10.00, cheap!
Step 3: Attach the new powerful Drill (motor)
I positioned the new motor (Craftsman 19.2 Volts) Cost me $5. at a yard sale! I attached it with zip-ties to be upgraded later with automotive type hose clamps.
Step 4: Charge up the battery
The drill came in a kit with two batteries, charger, and a flashlight. Charge up both batteries . It runs about 2 hours on one battery. You can strap on the second battery or carry it in your jacket pocket.
Step 5: Get ready to ride!
Ok, get ready to ride! I will warn you, this thing flies, about 10 mph in 2 seconds! I crashed on my first try out. Its just too fast! I skinned my knees and hands, so wear appropriate protective gear. Gloves , knee pads, and even a helmet, are recommended !
