I've never liked the cases that most Flash Drives come in, they're bulky and vaguely ugly, and the nice looking ones tend to be way expensive.  So I picked up a generic 8gb PNY Flash Drive from Staples (on sale! :D) for 11 bucks, with the intent of customizing it.  This is what I came up with.

So you just filled the cavity with Glue, pushed the drive in and let it dry over several days. This didn't kill the drive in anyway? Works just fine then? I have a usb that broke out of it's case I think i'll do something similar with but i was wondering if the glue killed it or not.

Glue isn't conductive, so it's actually protecting the drive- Hot Glue and Shoe Goo are probably the two most used glues for electrical repairs/projects, so if you're concerned, use one of those

Thanks! I dig your USB case mod too, gluing two halves together didn't even occur to me

Nice job! This is a very well-written Instructable with good pictures, not to mention the good looking final product. I'll try this next time I get an exceptionally ugly flash drive.

Very nice looking U.S.B, unlike the vast majority of generic assembly line ones. I recommend making a lid to protect the connector though; it will protect the connector as well as complete the look of this stylish tech. Good job!

Very attractive & also perfect for the steampunk look. I'll bet this shows up in the background of Warehouse 13 next season.
