I thought I'd be using mine for about a week. Until I tried to buy a case...
I bought a 4th generation iPod, the last with Firewire, so I could boot a Mac from it (works great), do diagnostics; and use it on machines with USB 1.0. The box arrives from Apple, I crack it open and behold the delicate, highly polished surfaces. "What a 60 Gig beauty, says I. How'm I gonna get this to work, with no case??" And so, being a resourceful Instructables addict, I set to work. Rummaging about the house. For the stuff you'll find in the next step.

It's personal opinion which player they like, just most prefer ipods. most likely because they look cool, fit in a pocket and have a good advertising campaign.
I personally prefer either an Iriver mp3 player (i own a t30) or the old zen nanos.
but thats MY opinion.
