Emergency iPod Sock- At last, a use for stray socks!

Emergency iPod Sock- At last, a use for stray socks!
What to do when you want to go out with your trusty iPod (or small digital camera, for that matter) and a case is not available? Fear not. In 5 or 10 minutes, you'll be on the road, iPod safe and warm in your new Emergency iPod Sock!

I thought I'd be using mine for about a week. Until I tried to buy a case...

I bought a 4th generation iPod, the last with Firewire, so I could boot a Mac from it (works great), do diagnostics; and use it on machines with USB 1.0. The box arrives from Apple, I crack it open and behold the delicate, highly polished surfaces. "What a 60 Gig beauty, says I. How'm I gonna get this to work, with no case??" And so, being a resourceful Instructables addict, I set to work. Rummaging about the house. For the stuff you'll find in the next step.

If you're impatient, and have a fast connection, watch the video.

Why do people argue so much.
It's personal opinion which player they like, just most prefer ipods. most likely because they look cool, fit in a pocket and have a good advertising campaign.
I personally prefer either an Iriver mp3 player (i own a t30) or the old zen nanos.
but thats MY opinion.

Why do people hate ipods so much? Is it because it ends the cd?I mean in legal addition you MUST buy your music online so i do not find this accusation fair, unless you download your music illegal. End Qoute O___o

People hate anything that's popular. They think it makes them individual, when it really just makes things more complex. example, audiophiles hold the iPod's quality in high regard, who better to listen to than someone that knows their field of interest rather than someone that just likes to be a square peg in the round hole. Some mainstream things are worth straying away from like mainstream music, but the iPod is just the best MP3 player, and that's pretty much all there is to it.

Yeah obviously not *sarcasm* Yes, in fact I have. It was a 20GB Zen sleek Photo. Guess what, it broke! yes, it broke within 6 months of buying it. I don't abuse my stuff, no not at all. In fact, I didn't use it daily like my iPod. It didn't suddenly stop working, it gradually got less reliable day after day from the first week that I got it. So, there you go.

They do make ipod socks already. But cool idea. I own a nano and spent $6 on a samsonnite latex case for it and was really dissapointed. I went to the dollar store today and bought one and was really happy with it. Go figure.

I ride my bike or run to work a lot. To protect the fruit I take for lunch, it gets put in a sock. Works great to reduce bruises on apples and pears.

This is great. I would have never thought this up.
