Introduction: Emoticon Ornament ;)

About: I'm a mom, wife, programmer, blogger. Check me out at www.thecheesethief.com

These foam letters (foamies) have been sitting in the back of my drawer forever. Here is a simple way to make an emoticon ornament. Just find the letters you need and stick them on. Could it be more simple? I was lucky that the letters came with parenthesis, but if yours doesn't you can cut it out from a letter C.  Mine didn't come with a comma so I took the inside of the letter O and cut it into a comma.  The period was the inside of the number 8.

I also spray painted my ornament because the paint was chipping off this really old ornament I found.

Materials Needed:
Foam Letters found at any craft supply store
One ornament larger than the foam letter

Step 1:

Find the letters/ symbols you want for your emotion.  Here are a few:

>:] :-) :) :o) :] :3 :c) :> =] 8) =) :}
:^) >:] :-) :) :o) :] :3 :c) :> =] 8) =) :} :^)
>:[ :-( :(  :-c
>:) >;) >:-)
B-) 8) 8-)

Step 2:

You can spray paint your ornament or just use a solid color ornament.

If the foamie for the letter isn't available then you can use a small scissor and cut it out from an existing letter.  I cut out the comma from the inside of the number 8.

Step 3:

Foamies usually are sticker backed but if yours are not then just glue them on with some craft glue.
