here is the translation:

Emulator Cartridge: Commodore 64
(Almost all the accents do not work, then the text will be without accents)

Here I will explain step by step how to assemble a cartridge for the Commodore 64 to be used in conjunction with the emulator cartridges. This cartridge supports that will set up games 8K, but I want to make the inclusion of larger games, in just a few days.

Requirements:
1 cartridge C64
1 x Floppy changed see the tutorial
1 piece of universal card
1 part bar pin dual with 34 pins
Fine wire to the connectors or a piece of flatcabe

Dremel, soldering iron, weld quality, file
Screwdriver, knife, solder sucker

step 1
Start separating any one cartridge. I had a cartridge without label and used it as a basis.

step 2
Cut a piece of double bar. Mecca the part to be cut with his own cable. See the second picture. Just make a light force with a stylus that cut the plastic and the exact position.

step 3
With the Dremel or other cutting tool, cut a piece of the plate pattern of 4 rows of holes. See the third photo.

After the cut, with a good file of a finish on the board, taking the burrs.

step 4
Place the connector in the center of the board and solder pin to pin.

step 5
Open the cartridge. This was already without central bolt, but has four slots that hold the two halves. I separated them with only a slight pressure of a small screwdriver.

step 6
I realized that it would be possible to place the plate pattern behind the plastic fitting, but this would need to cut the excess plastic.

Using the Dremel cutting tongue plastica. With a fine file, from the finish. See the second picture.

Repeat on the other slot.

step 7
Use the card terminal to measure. Make a small mark with estiliete to mark the cut. Start with the Dremel cutting and go slowly and giving finishing with a file.

Every few seconds to stop and test the size of the cut, for not overshooting.

Within minutes you will have to cut the right size.

step 8
Test the final alignment and finishing with the file if necessary.

See that the board should fit perfectly behind the slots.

step 9
Pra lid to close, and necessary also a small cut on each side, where the pins plastics enter the islands.

Corete slightly from the top to the bottom of the island, enough to pass the plate.

Finishing with a fine file. See the second picture.

step 10
Test the closure of the cartridge. Looking, make small adjustments to the file, up to fit perfectly.

step 11
Returning the card, see that the ROM is involved in a bubble of resin. How not an easy operation and withdrawal, let's just cut the connectors it.

I used a Dremel with a small cutter, but you can also cut with a knife. Make sure that separated the tracks. In doubt, test the tracks cut, lightly scraping the varnish to get contact.

step 12
Solder up the wires pin to pin following the pin connector C64. I seized the islands themselves crossing welding wires.

- Solder the D0 to D7 in CD7 to CD0 (pins 14 to 21)
- Solder the GND on any of the Brazilian version of the board (pins 1, 22, A or Z)
- Weld A0 to A12 CA0 ate CA12 (Y K-pin)
- No connector, solder / CS to GND
- Solder the / EXROM plate (pin 9) to GND. (This was connected to my board)
- Solder the / OE connector to / Romla plate (pin 11)

WARNING: The VCC, pin 34, is not bound!

WARNING: The image of the connector 34 and a top view of the connector.

step 13
And time to test. Attach the small plaque in the slot.

At first, you only fit the card, without the cable connected to the emulator.

Note that you must connect the plate with a resin ball facing up.

Call oC64 and it should start normally. If you give black screen or locks, turn off and double-check all the connectors.

After this first test, with the C64 off plug the cartridge to the emulator.

In the emulator, call holding one of the side buttons to enter configuration mode. Choose "Master System". Do not deceive me not! The C64 works with the same configuration of the Master.

Load a game originally IN CARTRIDGE 8kb. Note also that you need a rom file (. BIN or. ROM). Files. CRTs which are converted to cartridge emulators and images of the disk. D64,. T64 and others do not work!

step 14
With the connector attached behind fittings, arrange the wires to the lid close properly.

step 15
Knife one last test with the cartridge already mounted.

Parabens. Another cartridge ends.

(Although I will change in this cartridge to put the larger games)

He took good photos, it's not hard to follow at all. Basically he's retrofitting a C64 cartridge to work as a ROM image emulator to a C64 computer. He does this by making a hole for the headers at the top, cutting the traces used by the original ROM, and connecting the headers to vias on the board that lead to the cartridge's edge connector. I barely speak Spanish at all, but with a bit of electronics knowledge and observation, the language barrier really isn't an issue.

Portuguese, actually, but if you know Spanish it's pretty easy to read, and you have half a chance if you know French.
