Expanded Pen Grip

Expanded Pen Grip
I recently broke the wrist of my dominant hand. And while I can stil move my fingers, and partially move my thumb it is extremely painful to try and grip a pen because of the way my arm shifts inside my cast. I'm too cheap to go and buy a fat pen for six weeks of use, so I came up with this solution. My brother was kind enough to act as my hands for this project. He drilled a hole the same diameter as my pen in a 1" diameter dowel rod. Then drilled a second hole perpendicular to the first and threaded a tumb screw into it to lock the pen in place. Then I sanded the rough edges down. Real easy project and much less painful to write.

I'm cheap and like to use what I have on hand and I really enjoy taking things apart to salvage parts. This, the use of epoxy and the Dremel are the only sources of consistancy among my projects.
