Hi all,

I recently discovered in my favourite supermarket a new cooking product : a special mold used to bake simple desserts in a microwave oven. The mold was on discount sale, so I bought one.

The product himself is simply a cup with a removable cap, with some holes in it, to remove steam. A small booklet with recipes was attached with him.

In this Instructable, I'll show how to bake a simple (but tasty!) chocolate fondant with this product. It's fun and easy to use... So follow these steps to discover this product !

Step 1: Ingredients

Ok, for this recipe, you will need :

  • 4 teaspoons of flour
  • 5 squares of black chocolate
  • 3 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • 2 table spoons of half-skimmed milk
  • 20 gr of butter
  • optional : coloured vermicelli for decoration, or other colourful things

Step 2: Melt the Chocolate

Ok, put 5 squares of chocolate into the mold.

Add two tablespoon of milk and about 20 gr of butter.

Close the mold, then bake it into the microwave for about 30 seconds at 900 W.

Once done, carefully mix everything. Watch out, the mold is very hot.

Step 3: Add the Flour and the Sugar

Once mixed, add four teaspoons of flour (not too full), and three teaspoons of brown sugar.

Again, mix everything with a spoon.

Put it back into the oven and bake it for 40 seconds. (900W).

Step 4: Result !

Here we are ! A nice chocolate fondant in no time !

Hardest part : Wait ! Let it cool a bit, then add some decoration on it. You may want to unmold it, or directly eat it into the mold. Just do as you want !

Step 5: Last Words

Ok, this recipe is my first experiment with this mold. Some recipes were provided, I'll try and adapt them. You can do chocolate spread, apple pies... I'll try later !

It should be possible to bake classical "mug cakes" recipes in this mold. The only difference is that we will have to change the baking times...

This kind of recipes are perfect to do with kids. If you need something quickly to eat for a breakfast, remember this... You should have all the ingredients in stock !
