well... this is really easy, ive done it like 4 times already and its really fun!

first what we are going to need is:

1) CREPE PAPPER------ yes the most important part of the process....

2) gloves

3) girls or boys with light or blond hair colours.... if you have it black you know what to do (BLEACH IT).... :D

4) a cool mom that wont get mad when she sees the bathroom! (It can get messy) :D

first you need to choose the colour of the paper u want..... i chose blue once and it turned out to be a little bit lighter at the end..
second.... choose the amount of hair you want, YOU CANT HAVE YOUR HAIR WET.... IT HAS TO BE DRY
third put on your gloves.... grabb the paper, make a little ball with it, and let the water run... you will see that when the paper gets wet it will start losing the colour, then u start pressing it against you hair... if u see that the paper is getting smaller grabb another piece.... and continue.... once you had done the amount of hair you wanted, dry it and ready.. check out the results....

It wont last much, maybe a couple of days and it will start fading away, ONCE AGAIN ITS REALLY IMPORTANT TO BLEACH IT in case you are not blonde!!!

ONE IMPORTANT THING..... YOU WILL NOTICE THAT ALL YOUR BATHROOM HAS COLOURS SPOTS EVERYWHERE........ NOW YES YOU WILL NEED CHEMICAL PRODUCTS, CAUSE ISNT EASY TO REMOVE IT!!!!!

BTW... papel Crepe is the only one that works because under the water lose the colour, another papers dont do that

PS.......SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH !!!!!

Neat trick, and has interesting possibilities WRT controlling exactly where the colors end up, but I'm not sure I believe that the crepe paper contains less (or less harmful) "chemicals" than actual hair dyes...

I beg to differ. Crepe paper usually is died with biodegradable water colour. At least in Europe it wouldn't be allowed if else, since it's used for crafting with kids (and kids need to put everything in their mouths). Thats also why you can do this dyeing in the first place: because it's soluble in water. "Normal" hair dye contains ammonia and other stuff, and is not water soluble (so it's not gone after 1 hair wash). Crepe paper is not harmful, it just tastes a bit bitter and you get a coloured tongue. I wouldn't try to eat normal hair dye though. =)

Well in my opinion.. is just paper... and you will only use the color that leaks from it...
Ive been dying my hair for ages and i can say that hair dyes are hair's worst enemy...

I really would like to know what creppe papers are made from and if they have chemical products

This would make a great Step-by-Step Instructable called something like Dye Your Hair with Crepe Paper, if you could include pictures of the process! I do think the dyes in the paper are pretty harsh too, but sounds like they're not as bad as the hair dyes you're used to.
