This is an older video I submitted for a greenhouse gas reduction contest in 2008. The rules were less than 2 minutes so that is the reason for the speedy voice over. This process can be used at home for science projects and small batch char production. The vent gasses are flammable and could be used to reintroduce into the heating process or as a separate clean burning fuel for a steam turbine or small stove. Since this process incorporates glass, high temperatures and possible pressure buildups should a check valve fail, safety equipment is highly recommended.
