Picture of Face tracking gun
*NOTE* This project is done by a group of students from Singapore Polytechnic.
The tools and components were provided by our FYP supervisor Teo Shin Jen.

This project is an expansion from the laser trip wire gun project shown here -
http://www.instructables.com/id/Building-a-Sentry-Gun-with-Laser-Trip-Wire-System-/?ALLSTEPS

The only difference is that the gun will not be triggered by laser but by a face.

Basically, this project is combining face tracking and the laser trip wire gun, thus, a face tracking gun.
The algorithm used for face tracking is similar to the one done by techbitar - http://www.instructables.com/id/Face-detection-and-tracking-with-Arduino-and-OpenC/?ALLSTEPS

In order to implement face tracking, openCV is used. OpenCV(open source computer vision) is a library of programming functions for real time computer vision. Their library can be found : http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/ .

Firstly, mount the webcam on the gun. I used a cable tie to tie them together.

I think this page needs an update as the MS link is pooched and does not mention version. 2010 ?

Current link for OCV is http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/file...

I grabbed 2.4 and also the 32 bit demo pack as I use VS 2010 which defaults to 32 bit.

Do verify your versions of JAVA. I uninstalled most of my java SDK etc so I could go to the 32 bit versions which seem to work better for a lot of the OpenCv stuff
