Introduction: Fast, Easy, and Inexpensive Go Board (with a Quick History)
Go (also spelled "Goe") is a popular Japanese board game. Although its origins are in China, this entertaining game is played all around the world. There is even a Manga based off of the game called Hikaru No Go.
In this Instructable, I will be showing you how to make your own Go board.

Step 1: Creating the Table
Today we are going to use Microsoft Word to make the board. There is a mac version for Word, but I don't know how to do it on a mac. Sorry... =(
1) Open up Word.
2)On the table menu, roll your mouse over "Insert", and click on "Table" (mac users should just insert a table in any way they can)
3) On the pop-up window, set the columns and rows to 18. We set it to 18 because Word tables go by boxes, but Go uses the intersections between boxes to play pieces (19x19 is the most common size of go board. There are also 13x13 and 9x9 for beginners.) Set the AutoFit behavior to "AutoFit to window" Click OK.
Don't worry if the table seems small, it will stretch out to more than just one page in the next step
***OPTIONAL***
You can resize the table bigger if you want. You can also use the "Draw Table" functions to make the lines thicker or thinner. See the 2nd and 4th images
Step 2: *IMPORTANT STEP* Prining
1) On the File menu, click "Print".
2) Click on Properties
3) On the "Finishing" tab there will be a drop-down box labeled "Poster Printing", click 2x2 (if your board is as big as most of the page) or 3x3 (if your board is on the small side).
4) Click "OK" and start printing.
Step 3: Finishing Up
Once it's finished printing, tape it together in the right way and your done!
I glued mine to cardboard and used a clear packaging tape to avoid ripping. I accidentally spilled water on it, but it was mostly fine thanks to the tape! =)
To play, you need game pieces of course.
You can use anything! I used small black pebbles for "black" and some dried beans for "white".
On a 19x19 board, you need 181 blacks and 180 whites.
On a 13x13 board, you need 85 blacks and 84 whites
On a 9x9 board, you need 41 blacks and 40 whites.
