Introduction: Fast Office Shoe Lace Fix

After replacing my shoelaces this weekend, I discovered I had purchased laces that were too long. So, I put my mind to working and came up with an awesome solution. This is my story

Step 1: Assemble Tools

Not much needed here.  Scissors to cut the laces, some heat shrink tubing, and some open flame!

Step 2: Pre-place the Shrink Tube.

Place the shrink tube on the shoe laces before you cut them.  If you wait, you will have to figure out how to get it over the frayed lace.

Step 3: Cut the String

I felt the best way to size the laces was to tie them, then cut them based on the current length.

Step 4: Shrink the Tube

Don't  get crazy here.  But, I didn't want to take off my shoes!  This was talent - to burn the lace without burning myself.

Step 5: Final Product

And this is the final product!  It works and really makes good use of too long shoe laces.
