Introduction: Female Headers for Raspberry Pi GPIO Pins From IC Sockets

So you have finally found some time to experiment with the GPIO pins of your Raspberry Pi, only to discover that you don't have the appropriate cable connector from the GPIO pins to your breadboard at your disposal.

If you have an IC socket lying around then you can simply clip it apart for a row of female headers or even for individual headers. Then you can solder a wire to the metal pin of the former IC socket and connect it to your circuit.

Happy experimenting!
