if you ask politely at camera shops they will usually give you like a ton of them for free although the guy asked me if i was making bombs out of them i just said that i was not going to, then as soon as i got home i mixed up a batch of black powder...hehehe

Go to your local camera store,ask if they do developing. If they say yes, ask them what they do with their film canisters. Most of the time (like 99/100) they'll say they throw them away. That is when you ask if you can have some. I find this technique best because every time so far for me i've done this i've come away with 30.
