Finding heaven in your kitchen (Grilled PB&J)

Over the course of the last few months my girlfriend has become increasingly pregnant. As most people know with pregnancy comes cravings. Often times it's weird things like pickles or pudding and pickles(yuck!). But we as men deal with it and jump the moment she says, "oh hunny!" Recently my expecting wanted a PB&J that was cooked like my famous 4 slice 3 tier Grilled Cheese. Her reasoning is she didn't want any dairy but she wanted something hot and she had a craving for peanut butter. After a brief, hugh? moment I set to work. Surprisingly it became a hit and over the last few weeks it has been the main "snack" for the two of us. The following is the Grilled PB&J Mach 17. (Previous versions mysteriously disappeared)

Peanut butter, then sliced bananas, then honey or grape jelly. Fried in butter (or bacon fat). All time favorite sandwich. I'll have to try it with bacon.

I've been making variations of this for awhile, for a change of pace try peanut butter and honey instead of the jelly. Or toss a few pieces of cooked bacon inside, really good witht the peanut butter.

Upon cutting my sandwich, I was met with an ooze of melted peanut butter. This may be one of the best PB&Js I have ever had.

Great instructable. My old roommate and I have been making sandwiches like these for years and they are the best. Every time I try describing it to someone who's never had on I always get that look like I'm crazy. It's good to know there's someone else out there with good taste.

When my g/f mentioned it I figured she was off her rocker....Then I tried it.

When we (me and my roommate) originally came up with this it was when I mentioned as a kid my favorite sandwich was fried bacon and peanut butter. He thought I meant frying the whole sandwich (as opposed to just the bacon) and viola, a new sandwich was born.

Thank you, but I must direct all appreciations to my hormonal & pregnant girlfriend. I was merely the tools to her design. It is delicious though. Thanks again.
