Thanks for this. I've been looking all over for a simple recipe for smoke... whatever. Is there a specific type/brand of coldpack to use?
Any brand of instant cold pack will do. They all use the same active ingredient of ammonium nitrate. I have used cheap ones the Dollar store before and they worked fine.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Thanks man I appreciate the positive feedback :)

How much smoke does one batch make? I want to smoke my travel trailer to find small leak and smoke sticks cost $20. I would of course put in firesafe container.

Wanted to say I made smoke bombs for my rv trailer. One pack made four one page bombs. They burn fast and completely. I used packs that had already been used. Added water to dried chemical and it worked fine. I used a small smoky joe grill to contain the bombs. I am stripping caulking and replacing seals, when I finish sealing the rv, I am going to repeat smoke test.
