Picture of Fishing Knot
This is a Fishermans Knot, I decided to use these materials because you could see them easier than the fishing line.

interestingly enough, this is also the same knot used to tie off sutures. i also agree with everyone else....this is a well thought out ible. it's very well documented with perfectly clear instructions and understandable pictures to go with it.

nicely done "ible". I started fishing way back before monofilament was used by the average fisherperson and was taught this very same knot with 6-8 wraps. There is also one that is more like a hangmans noose for larger line. Over the intervening years I was told that the number of wraps you should use on mono depends on the line size, smaller test using less. It had something to do with friction affecting the line and that you should lubricate the line even if all you have is saliva before tightening the knot. How true either statement is, I don't know, but it's always worked for me. Thank you for sharing
Clear pictures and explanation. Very nice. :)
