Sugru is a moldable silicone putty that can be used for all sorts of repairs and projects. I'm going to illustrate how to use it to fix a slightly busted toilet seat.

Step 1: Womperjawed

This toilet seat slides from side to side. Back in the old country (Ohio), we would call this state of being, "womperjawed". It seems like the plastic bolt on the left side is not held tight by anything.

Step 2: Missing Piece

Indeed, when we look under the toilet, we see that on the right side, the bolt is held fast by a plastic nut-sort-of-thing. On the left side, nada. Let's make a replacement nut with Sugru!

Step 3: Prepare the Sugru Cannon

Cut along the dotted lines to open your packet of Sugru. Roll it into a ball, then roll the ball out into a stick about 2 inches long.

Step 4: Create the Nut

Wrap the putty stick around the bolt. Then carefully roll it off so that you have a ring of Sugru.

Step 5: Stick It On

Sugru is fairly sticky, so press the putty ring up underneath the toilet around the bolt hole. Then carefully put the bolt back in the hole, making sure not to knock the Sugru off. Smoosh the putty onto the bolt and the porcelain like you see in the second picture.
