Introduction: Flavor Up Canned Tomato Soup

I will keep a few canned foods on hand for a quick easy meal, when I am not feeling well enough to cook from scratch or if I am away from home longer than expected. It is not my favorite thing to make, but I have learned a way to make them taste much better.

Step 1: Ingredients

You may make this with or without Cream Of Mushroom Soup. If you don't add the Cream Of Mushroom Soup; use 1 can of Tomato Soup with a mixture using the empty can  ( 1/2 water to 1/2 cup milk or powdered milk. ) The powdered milk will mix better. Fresh herbs would be super with this if you have them available.

1 Can Tomato Soup
1 Can Cream Of Mushroom Soup
1 Can Water
1 Can milk or powdered milk
Pinch of Baking Soda if using regular milk
1/2 Teaspoon Italian seasoning using 1/4 t in the tomato soup before cooking and 1/4t  in the serving bowls.
Pepper as desired at time of serving
Parmesan cheese as desired at time of serving

Step 2: Utensils

1 sauce pan
1 Large spoon
1 Whisk
1 Ladle not shown
Can opener

Step 3: Pour

Pour the tomato soup into the sauce pan.
Add 1 Can of milk. If using regular milk add a pinch of Baking soda to help it mix together. If using powdered milk; it is not necessary.
Mix well.
Heat on medium heat.

Step 4: Add

Add 1 can of Cream Of Mushroom Soup.
Add 1 can water
Mix well.

Step 5: Add Seasoning

Add 1/4 teaspoon Italian Seasonings.
Mix well.
Cook until hot.

Step 6: Serve

Pour into serving bowls.
Sprinkle the   Italian seasoning , Parmesan, and Pepper to each bowl of soup if desired.
Serve with crackers or . . .
This soup goes well with a grilled cheese sandwiches!

Step 7: Sunshiine's Final Thoughts

My girlfriend has taught me a few tricks about adding flavor to dull foods. She always adds a little fresh ingredient to any prepared foods to give it a homemade flavor. It does not taste as wonderful as cooking from scratch but it certainly taste better!
