Make a water resistant ,hard match case that floats out of an old flashlight.

Step 1: Disassemble

I had several small flashlights that I couldn't fix so I found another use for them.

Remove the battery case and pitch it. Your don't have to remove both ends just one will do.

Step 2: Matches

I used waterproof matches. Don't forget to include the striker. Then close it up and you have a water resistant match case.
My guess is that it probably is waterproof but I'm not sure what the definition of waterproof is so I'll just stick with water resistant.

I guess I should check to see that my flashlight is water tight and floats. My boys are putting together summer camping gear. This is going to be my contribution. Their dad bought them machetes. When are they going to be so far in the woods that a machete is going to be necessary?

beats me! still its a good thing to have. sounds like a lot a fun. I think this case would definitely keep water out such as in the rain and stuff. you could also take out the matches a put the case in water and leave it there to see if any water gets in.
thanks for commenting. hope you have fun camping.

I have no intention of going with them. I love my creature comforts. I think that is part of the attraction for them. We never camped when they were little so now it feels like a great adventure.

oh okay I understand. well I don't completely understand since I like ruffing it.
Anyhow I hope they have fun.
