Introduction: Flower From a Floppy Disk

Make an easy and cute little flower from an old floppy disk.

Step 1: Open the Floppy Disk

Take a floppy disk and open it to get the disk inside.

Step 2: Cut the Flower

Cut the floppy disk in 6, 8, 12 or even 16 parts.
Give a petal shape to each part and then fold them up to shape the flower.
And done!

Step 3: Uses

You can use it as a piece for jewelry, decoration or accessories.
Your imagination is your only limit!

Great 'ible, thanks. A nice easy make, especially for kids, and the end result looks surprisingly cool! I made the eight-petalled variety, and when placed on top of an uncut magnetic disk from another floppy disk, my kids said it looked like a water-lily. I'm thinking of adding a stem to the next one (maybe a straightened paperclip, if it's long enough) and painting the centre. Combined with a floppy disk planter, you could end up with a nice little display of nerdy faux flowers for your desk or kitchen.
