This is a simple guide to how to make your own Flying Spaghetti Monster table decorations for your Friday pasta feast :)

Step 1: Materials

You will need:

2 self adhesive googly eyes (or non-adhesive, just glue them on)

3 long pipe-cleaners

2 polystyrene balls (or similar material)

Step 2: Paint Meatballs

Paint the two meatballs in the color of the meatballs from your favorite recipe

Step 3: Position the Pipe Cleaners

Here you will bend all three pipe cleaners in half.

Position one of them vertically (these two will be the long tentacles above the FSM)

Position the other two horizontally:

  • One of them centered, as this one will become the four legs (after we cut the bent end open)
  • One of them positioned with one third to one side (eyestalks), and two thirds to the other side (arms that hold the meatballs)

Step 4: Secure Center, by Twisting Long Tentacles Around the Rest

... you may want to twist the others into the "knot" to make a stable center for everything...

Step 5: Cut Open the Legs and Arms

Cut open the bent pieces that will become the last 2 legs (making 4 in all), and the arms

Step 6: Shape the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Bend the tentacles, arms and legs, so it looks alive :)

Step 7: Poke Arms Into Meatballs

Poke the pipecleaner arms well into the meatballs.

Make sure you get at least to the center, to give the FSM a firm grip on his balls.

Step 8: Make the FSM Come Alive by Shaping the Tentacles, Arms and Legs

Step 9: Add Eyes - and He Is Done! :)

If you don't have self-adhesive eyes, just draw some on cardboard or paper and glue them on. We're not dogmatic - if it works, He will accept it ;-)

You can add other seasonal gimmicks, like a santa-hat, a pumpkin lamp or other fun props :)

Enjoy, and rest safely in His Noodly Appendages!

Ha! Very cute. At first I thought the meatballs were Milk Duds. I guess if you made these as party favors, they could be a candy.

Yeah, they're a bit too shiny to be credible meatballs.
And that's a great idea, with the milk duds! ??
