----------------------------------------------

Some time ago, during my bike rides to burn glucose, I thought it would be nice to have a trailer to pick up some things that I often found lying on the street. On the other hand, after building the salamander I need to feed it, something relatively easy since during the fall there is abundance of branches from pruning. In addition, I had to do a welding job near home, and I was forced to move in a hand cart the welder and accessory tools.

Once the decision to do the cart, I took some days to set specifications, which are the first step of this project.

Step 1: Las especificaciones (specifications)

El carrito debe ser:
  • Factible
  • Liviano
  • Fácil de guardar bajo techo
  • Adaptable a distintas necesidades
  • Capaz de cargar hasta 100 kg aproximadamente
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The cart must be:
  • Feasible
  • Easy, or at least not very complicated
  • Cheap, readily available materials
  • Lightweight
  • Easy to store indoors
  • Adaptable to different needs
  • Capable of carrying up to approximately 100 kg

Thanks, IamWe. Your kind word raise my mood, because my fails are too many that sometimes I think I am useless to work.
It is not how many times we fall that is important, it is how many times we get up. Your excellence at creation of ideas is exquisite. It takes a great amount of excellence to impress me, and you have done that Rimar

Thanks, tall_dark_n_twisted. People (especially we old human beings) need some praise from time in time.

Gracias, razorwinged.
Wow. I bow to you, sir. Being dedicated enough to make your own wing nuts? That is some hardcore DIY. Most excellent!

Does anyone know if one can use this type of wagon,or any kind for that matter, with a scooter without having to tag it?
rimar2000 (author)  spylock1 year ago
Pardon, spylock, I had not seen your question before.

Yes, you could use this type of wagon with a scooter. At least here in Argentina it is normal. People who do works at home usually carry their tools (mower, weed eater, welder, etc) that way.
Thanks,Id have no problem doing that,in the summer.A person could save alot of money,it looks perfect for shopping.

Wow, very usefull and inspiring!
I love that you made all parts, especially the connection between the bike and the trailer.

Thanks for your comment, Kate.

Really is very rewarding for me to know the cart is availlable each time I need it, although be from time to time.

Do you have a FAQ frequently asked questions?

My question is ( sorry if has been asked) how much weight can it carry?
rimar2000 (author)  mark1011 year ago
I have not idea, Think maybe 100 Kg. Depending on the ground, the driver, the cyclist, etc.

It is quite solid, I used it some times to carry loads of firewood, without mayor problems.

One of the best homemade carts I have seen! This will be my "design help" when I "need" one of these.

Glad you like it!

PM me when you have a doubt, maybe I could help you.

The cart has been very useful to carry firewood last weeks.
Firewood you say? Here is a video you may like of something I made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOyXBRcNIu0

rimar2000 (author)  ramontorres2 years ago

Assume! I volunteer at a bicycle cooperative (COOP) and try to keep up with the trailer options for those who want to build one. Great addition to the collection.
