Foldable/Portable Superlight Doggy Water Bowl $0

 by nugget659
This is a bowl designed for giving your dog water when you take them with you to the park, or to the trails. The opening of the bowl is narrower than the base, so the pressure of the water in the bowl holds the bowl upright. You can fold it up and put it into your pocket when you are not using it.

You could go buy a foldable (and prettier) portable dog water bowl for $10-$15 or you could make one in less than 30 minutes and do some recycling too.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

17.JPG
You need the following materials:
Flexible Plastic Sheet at least 28cm x 28cm
Aluminum foil
Piece of scrap wood

I am using some housewrap that I got from the throwaway pile at at local construction site. It feels like fabric; is light, watertight, and strong. It is used in the same way that Tyvek is. (I do not know if Tyvek would work for this project).

And the following tools:
Ruler
Scissors
Soldering Iron
Marker
Clamp

Nice work. Also, this has more potential uses than watering dogs. L

Thanks for the feedback guys. The bowl is holding up well. The dog loves it. @ Graham, thanks for the baking sheet tip. Don't have any now though.

Nice project. Silicon baking sheet is also good for forming welds through and it never sticks.

This is a 'classic' project, and makes a great instructable! You can actually boil water in a paper bowl similar to this...
